Rev. Sean Hansen,
Sean was born and raised in Northeastern Ohio. He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2007. That summer he married Rebecca, and they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where Sean studied for his Master of Divinity at Concordia Theological Seminary. He served his vicarage at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial, Nebraska under the supervision of the Rev. David Kahle. Graduating in 2011, Sean accepted the call to be the pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon, Iowa. He was ordained and installed at St. Paul on June 26, 2011. Sean and Rebecca live in Lisbon, Iowa with their six children. In his spare time, Sean enjoys playing with his children, reading, music, and photography.
Rev. Ryan Buchmueller,
Assistant to the Pastor
Pastor Buchmueller is a native St. Louisian and lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. He is a 2001 graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and has served congregations near Grand Rapids, MI; near New Orleans, LA; and in Southwest Missouri. He has been happily married to his wife Marissa, since September 3rd, 2016. They are proud parents to Bridget, and are expecting a son at the end of February, 2019. The Buchmueller family have been members of St. Paul Lutheran Church since late Fall of 2017 after they moved to the Cedar Rapids area in order for him to serve as a full-time staff chaplain at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Before accepting his position at Mercy he did a two-year Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.) residency at the V.A. St. Louis Healthcare System. Pastor Buchmueller was installed as Assistant Pastor on Sunday, 18 November 2018, and is glad to be a part of the St. Paul team.
Family Life Coordinator
Julie was raised on a farm west of Oskaloosa, Iowa where she grew up taking care of pigs, jumping hay bales, and taming cats. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Child, Parent, and Community Services and received her M.S. from Kansas State University in Human Development and Family Studies. She has worked with Iowa State University Extension since 1992 as a county extension director, a youth development field specialist, and as the executive assistant for the Iowa Association of County Extension Councils. Julie and her husband, Scott, moved to Lisbon in 2010 with their three daughters – Kate, Jenna, and Megan. When she’s not driving the “mom taxi,” Julie enjoys baking, reading, and spending time outside.
Sonya Sullivan was born in Kansas and moved to Iowa in middle school. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and attended Kirkwood and received her Associates of Arts Degree. She worked as a purchasing agent and has lived in Tennessee and Missouri before coming back to Iowa. Sonya has two children a daughter, Bailey and a son, Benjamin. She currently works with students with special needs in the Mount Vernon School District. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, watching her kids play sports and reading.
Tracy Schmidt is a native of Plainfield, Iowa, which is a small town north of Waverly. She is a graduate of Plainfield high school and the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. She and her husband, Jeff, have lived in Lisbon since 1993. Jeff is head superintendent at Gardner Golf Course in Marion. Tracy and Jeff have a son, Caleb, and a daughter, Kendra. In her spare time Tracy enjoys reading and watching all sports, especially football!
Jeff Adrian is a native of Monona, Wisconsin, a suburb of Madison. He is a graduate of Monona Grove High School and Madison Area Technical College. Jeff and his wife, Susan, have lived in Mt. Vernon since 1997. They have three sons: Jason, Michael and Jacob, and two daughters: Katy and Laura. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys gardening and reading.
